Kishtwar, June 7: The first Under-17 Football Cup organised by the District Administration Kishtwar, District Youth Services and Sports Office and Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL) concluded successfully where Sudeva Delhi FC emerged victorious.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav was the chief guest during closing ceremony who witnessed the final match between Sudeva Delhi FC and Lone Star Kashmir FC, where Sudeva Delhi emerged victorious with a score of 6-1.
He distributed certificates to all 132 players carved out of the six teams hailing from Kishtwar, Kashmir, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. He also presented prestigious Cup, trophies and award money of Rs 50000 and Rs 25,000 to the winners and runner-up respectively.
Yadav highlighted the significance of sports in nurturing talent, promoting unity, and fostering a healthy and drug-free society. He expressed his appreciation for the remarkable performances displayed throughout the tournament and commended the efforts of all the participants, officials, and organizers including the District Youth Services and Sports Department besides, CVPPL and others who contributed to the resounding success of the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted that Kishtwar Chowgan ground, with its moderate climate and ample space, has the potential to become an ideal venue for summer football matches. Moreover, he announced that the Kishtwar Football Cup will become an annual event following its maiden success.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Additional District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Sham Lal, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar Rajinder Singh, DySP Vishal Singh, HOP CVPPL Ramesh Mukhiya, DYSSO Kharati Lal Sharma, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, and the staff of DYSSO.
Meanwhile, the pledge for Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan was also administered during the event, reaffirming the commitment to a drug-free India
