Strive hard to achieve success: Mir to youth

TANGMARG, May 27: Brucelee’s Institute of Martial Arts Club Budgam organized 3-day Divisional level Taekwon-Do Cup-2014 at Hanfiya Modal High School, Chandilora, which concluded this afternoon.
As many as 250 students from 14 schools and clubs of the area participated during the championship. RMP School Magam won the winner’s trophy.
Minister for Agriculture Production, Ghulam Hassan Mir was chief guest and the Deputy Inspector General of Police Baramulla-Kupwara Range, Mushtaq Sadiq was the guest of honour on the concluding day of the Championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that sports develop sense of discipline, team spirit and power of quick decision making among the sportsmen, besides builds strong body and mind. The Physically and mentally sound people make a healthy and harmonious society, he added.
The Minister stressed the need for popularizing sports culture in the state so that more and more youth get involved in the sports activities. He exhorted upon youth to take part in sports activities, adding that this would go a long way in their harmonious development.
Mr Mir said that the Government has taken various projects for creation and up-gradation of sports infrastructure to facilitate the enthusiastic  spots persons at District and Tehsil levels.
The Minister stressed upon the youth in general and students community in particular that they should strive hard for obtaining quality education so that they could compete at international and national levels.
The DIG Baramulla-Kupwara Range also spoke on the occasion.
Later, the Minister distributed mementos and trophies among the winner, runner up and participants.
Besides Principal of Hanfiya Model High School, students of various schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens and a large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion.
