JAMMU, Mar 20: Sports Authority of India’s Sports Training Centre (STC) Jammu conducted Badminton Tournament in Under-13 and Under-19 Girls Singles event in collaboration with J&K Badminton Association at Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In Under-13 girls singles, Eleena Singh Bhau beat Tara Shan by 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) in the finals, while in Under-19, Unnati Jaral defeated Krishika Mahajan by 2-0 (21-15, 21-16).
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Basanti Bhat presided over the function as chief guest while Balbir Singh Jamwal, secretary J&K Badminton Association was the guest of honour.
The chief guest said that women have immensely contributed in the making of a strong and pragmatic society. “The women can transform society with their sheer determination, dedication, grit, and wisdom,” she added.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up along with mothers of the participants.
Other dignitaries including Sudesh Kumar, Harjinder Singh, Rajeev Dogra, Touseef Ahmed and Divum Gupta were present during the event.
