State Wushu meet gets underway

JAMMU, Apr 24: Three-day 15th State Wushu Champion-ship, organised by J&K Wushu Association, got underway at Gymnasium Hall of University of Jammu, here today.
The competition declared open by Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Daud Iqbal Baba amidst introduction with participating teams from 18 districts of the State, a handout issued here today mentioned.
Earlier, president of the Association, Vijay Saraf welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering as also the participating teams from districts, SAI and J&K Police.
Among those prominent present were, Ajay Paul Gill, Maqsood Rather, Jabeena Akhter, Mudasir, Charan Singh, Yash Pal, Rajinder Singh, Surya Bhanu Partap Singh, Abhishek Jamwal and Aman.
Preliminary rounds of the competition took place today in lower age groups of under-14 and under-17.
