State Taekwondo team leaves for Jaipur

JAMMU, Aug 31: The Senior J&K State Taekwondo team (Kyorugi and Poomsae) left Jammu for Jaipur to participate in the 33rd Senior National Taekwondo (Kyorugi) Championship and 7th Senior National Poomsae Taekwondo Championship, being held from September 2 to September 5, 2014 at Swai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Earlier, J&K Taekwondo Association selected players for the said Championship from 16th J&K State Taekwondo Championships. Those who won gold medal in the State Championship were selected for the National Championships.
The J&K team was screened by J&K Sports Council at Judo Hall, M A Stadium on August 29, 2014 in the presence of Divisional Sports Officer, Rajann Sharma.
The chairman J&K Taekwondo Association, Anil Gupta (Anu), president, PC Sharma , general secretary, D N Pangotra and vice-president, Nissar Hussian and other office bearers of the Association were present at the time of team’s departure.
The Team: Poomsae Category; Atul Pangotra, Anuj Sharma, Sanjay Kumar, Brinder Singh, Arvind Satti, Tashi Tundup, Sunil Singh, Shazia Batool and Shehnaz Parveen.
Anil Khajuria (Kathua) and Burhan-ud-Din (Doda) are the coaches of the team, while Arun Sharma is the manager. Kyorugi Category: Yashumant, Rohit Sharma, Arvind Mishra, Ashok Kumar, Shravan Kumar, Jai Kumar, Sumit and Amarjeet
Rajat Thakur and Vishal Arya are accompanying the team as coaches, while Anil Singh Parihar and Nitin Rathore as managers.
