State Taekwondo team leaves for Jr Nationals

JAMMU, Oct 14: The J&K State Taekwondo Junior (boys and girls) Kyorugi and Poomsae team left Jammu for Puducherry to participate in the 33rd Junior National Taekwondo (Kyorugi & Poomsae) Championships being held from October 18 to 20, 2013 at Sports Complex, Puducherry.
J&K team is the defending Champion of the event, so this year also the Association hopes repetition of the past performance.
The team was flagged off by Rajneesh Sharma, SP, Anuj Sharma, treasurer, Jammu District Taekwondo Association and Atul Pangotra (NIS) International referee, coach and player.
The Team:
Kyorugi Boys: Aman Gupta (45 kg), Lakshit Sarmal (48kg), Danish (51 kg), Sanket Sharma (55 kg) and Deeraj kumar (63kg).
Poomsae Boys: Sanket Sharma, Aman Gupta and Honey Bali.
Sunil Singh is accompanying the boys team as coach.
Kyorugi Girls: Sidhika Charak(42 kg),Narmita Katoch(44 kg), Heena Bali  (67kg) and Komal (75 kg).
Poomsae Girls: Narmita, Sidhika Charak and Heena Bali.
Gautam Uppal and Rohit Sharma are accompanying the team as coach and manager respectively.
Chairman J&K Taekwondo Association, Anil Gupta alongwith president PC Sharma and general secretary DN Pangotra have wished the team success in the championship.
