State Boxing Championship gets underway

JAMMU, Nov 3: Jammu and Kashmir State Boxing Championship 2016 got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
Over 100 boxers in Sub Junior, Junior and Senior male and female categories are taking part in the Championship. The boxing teams drawn from Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, Samba, Reasi and Jammu are participating in the event. Men and women boxing teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police are also taking part in the event. The championship will conclude on November 5, 2016.
In junior category 46-49 kg quarterfinals, M Yasin beat Rahul Dabotra, Akash Sharma got better of Rahul Kumar, Shubam Sudan prevailed over Amit Chouhan and Sohail Khan trounced Sahil Kumar, while in 64 to 69 kg category Vishal Singh defeated Akash Sharma.
Earlier, in other bouts, Vishal Singh beat Jigmat, Asif Ali defeated Rakesh Kumar, Nikhil Jamwal drubbed Vinod Kumar and Amit Sharma outplayed Harshit Gabgotra.
Rahul Dabgotra got better of Keshav Bakshi, Mohd Yasin defeated Vishal Choudhary, Akash Sharma trounced Usman Ali, Rahul Kumar defeated Vishav Singh and Shubham Sudan drubbed Anand Singh.
