Star-studded AG’s team crushes Reasi XI by 8 wkts

JAMMU, Mar 22: Team effort helped star-studded AG’s XI to thrash Reasi XI by 8 wickets in the ongoing Rigour Cup 50-Over One Day Tournament, being organised by Country Cricket Academy in its Stadium at Gharota, near here today.
The AG’s team included a galaxy of former and current First Class Cricketers namely Omar Alam (Captain),Ram Dayal, Waseem Raza, Bandeep Singh, Paras Sharma, Mehjoor Ali Sofi, Vimarsh Kaw,  Rahil Singh and Anoop Mangotra.
Earlier, winning the toss, the AG’s decided to put Reasi XI into bat.
Batting first, Reasi XI bundled out for a paltry total of 98 runs. All the batsmen failed to show resistance against the AG’s XI bowlers, who were spot on from the word go, hitting right area and bowling with nagging line and teasing length.
Right-arm speedsters Ram Dayal and Rahil Singh took 3 and 2 wickets respectively, while left-arm spinner, Waseem Raza also took 3 wickets.
In reply, the AG’s team achieved the target in 10 overs by losing 2 wickets in the process. Sahil Bhalwal was the top scorer with unbeaten 35 runs, while Vimarsh Kaw contributed 28 runs to the total. Paras Sharma chipped in with quick-fire 15 runs off 5 balls, while Aditya Pratap Singh was out for just 2 runs.
Prominent among others present on the occasion was the AG team Mentors, Ashwini Gupta and Rajan Singh, besides Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy Player and Ashwini Kumar, Joint Secretary Country Cricket Club.
On the occasion, Ashwini Kumar presented a man of the match award to Ajeet Kumar of Reasi for his 7-wicket haul in the first match of Reasi XI with Katra XI played on the other day.
