Star Club outplays AMCC by 7 wkts in inaugural tie

JAMMU, July 27: Star Cricket Club defeated Aryan Mahajan Cricket Club (AMCC) by 7 wickets in the inaugural match of the Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament which got underway at Government Model School ground, Satwari, here today.
Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the inaugural function, who declared the tournament open in an impressive and well attended function.
Earlier, batting first, AMCC scored a modest total of 93 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Arun top scored with 29 runs, while Rahul contributed 14 runs to the total. For Star Club, Kuldip Singh and Kala bagged 2 wickets each, Anil, Rakesh and Nishu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Star Club chased the taget in 13 overs, scoring 97 runs by losing 3 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Rakesh, Kala and Pradeep contributed 33, 31 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For NMCC, Wasim took 2 wickets, while Sachin claimed one. Kala was adjudged man of the match for his all round show.
