JAMMU, Oct 4: Stadium XI Kathua and Kings XI, Jammu scripted wins to advance in the ongoing Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club at MA Stadium, here.
In the first match, Kings XI defeated RR Club by 6 wickets. Batting first, RR Club bundled out for a paltry 85 runs, with Nitin Mehra and Bhanu scoring 18 and 17 runs respectively. Jagteshwar took 3 wickets for Kings XI, while Sahil Gill and Vikrant claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Kings XI reached the target in the 19th over by losing 4 wicket to win the match by 6 wickets. Nipun Verma top scored with 45 runs, while Rahul Pandal (18) and Jagteshwar (11) were the other contributors. For RR Club, Sonu scalped 3 wickets, while Sunil claimed one. Nipun was declared man of the match.
In another match, Stadium XI Kathua defeated GMC Jammu by 54 runs in an easy contest. Batting first Kathua scored 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Atul played a brilliant innings of 64 runs, while Vishal contributed valuable 39 runs to the total. Jasmeet, Qaiser and Danish claimed one wicket apiece for GMC Jammu.
In reply, GMC collapsed at 100 runs, thus lost the match by 54 runs. Danish contributed 19 runs, while Nasir and Jasmeet chipped in with 14 runs each. For Stadium XI Kathua, Prashant and Munish took 2 wickets each, while Hari Om claimed one. Atul was adjudged man of the match.
JKP XI will take on Kings XI, while Simula XI will face Mendhar Super Stars tomorrow.
