SSP Udhampur inaugurates Volleyball tourney

UDHAMPUR, June 1: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Amritpal Singh, today inaugurated a three-day Volleyball Tournament at Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh (SIKS) Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Udhampur under the 100 Days “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan”.
The tournament has been organised by Range Police Headquarters Udhampur with the aim of spreading awareness among youth regarding the harmful effects of narcotic drugs and promoting a drug-free society. The event is being conducted in collaboration with Ayan Humanity Foundation and coordinated with the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Udhampur, along with various Volleyball Clubs of the district.
The inaugural function was attended by DySP Headquarters Udhampur; Raj Kumar Kaul, SO to DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range; Jatinder Sambyal, DySP DAR DPL Udhampur; and Rajesh Kumar, Director Ayan Humanity Foundation (NGO), along with his team and other officers and guests.
A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament, including Udhampur Volleyball Club, Narsingh Volleyball Club Ramnagar, Tikri Volleyball Club, City Volleyball Club, Fusion Volleyball Club, Veer Volleyball Club, Roundomail Volleyball Club and Jaganoo Volleyball Club.
Two matches were played on the opening day, while remaining league and knockout matches will be held over the next two days, culminating in the final and prize distribution ceremony.
