SSP inaugurates Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball Tournament

SAMBA, Oct 26: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Abhishek Mahajan accompanied by SDPO Vijaypur and SHO Police Station Ramgarh inaugurated “Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball Tournament” at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh under Police Flag Day programme today.
The Tournament is being organized in the memory of J&K Police Martyrs who laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of Nation.
The tournament is being played on knock out basis. In the said tournament, 12 teams of boys across District Samba are going to participate.
From the today’s matches played during inaugural day, four teams including Ramgarh-A Team, Ramgarh-B Team, Meen Sarkar Bari Brahmana and JBC Club Dugh sailed into semifinal.
SSP Samba in his message urged upon the participating teams to play their matches with high spirit of professionalism. Such sports activities being organized by J&K Police provides a better platform for the sports persons to explore their talents and channelizing their energy in right directions, added SSP Samba.
During the ongoing Sports Festival, various sports events like Cricket, Volleyball and Football Tournaments is being played besides cultural programme and Run for Unity will be organised by Samba Police on 31st October.
