SAMBA, Mar 28: Police held impressive closing ceremony of Football tournament, organized under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Kheli Mandi Ground, here wherein SSP Samba Benam Tosh presented cash reward of Rs 42000 along with trophies and certificates to the players in the presence of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, DySP DAR Ajay Anand, DySP Hqrs. Samba Mohd. Usman and SHO Rajeshwar Singh, today.
The final match of tournament was played between Kotli Mandi Football Club and Kheri Mandi Football Club in which team Kotli Mandi Football Club under the captainship of Sahil Sambyal emerged as overall winner, whereas team Kheri Mandi Football Club under the captainship Vishawajeet Singh clinched runner up trophy.
In the tournament, a total of eight Football teams: Kotli Football Club, Nud Football Club, Sangwali Mandi Football Club, Kheri Mandi Football Club, Kehli Mandi-B Football Club, Katli Football Club, Kehli Mandi-A Football Club and Thalora Mandi Football Club participated.
The players appreciated the role of police in organizing Football tournament at Samba in the interest of youth.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba Benam Tosh congratulated all the players of all the participating teams and their friends and families for exhibiting high degree of team spirit and keen interest while playing in the ground.
SSP Samba further said that Samba police is simultaneously organizing several tournaments of different games at different places in the district to involve and mobilize more and more youth with a view to motivate them to shun bad company, drug abuse and indulging in crimes.
Meanwhile, a Volleyball tournament organized by the Police at Community Hall Ground Ramgarh was also declared open by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari in presence of SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar.
A total of eight teams from different areas of the are participating, which is playing on knockout basis.
In the inaugural day, four matches were played among the teams including Jai Baba Chambliyal Club Dug Vs KhourSlarian Club, Ramgarh Club Vs Rajneesh Club Sarwa, Radha Krishan Club Gho Brahmana Vs Barjani Club and Friends Club Ramgarh Vs Swankha Club.
The Jai Baba Chambliyal Club Dug, Ramgarh Club, Radha Krishan Club Gho Brahmana and Friends Club Ramgarh emerged as winners in their respective matches.
