SRINAGAR, Mar 15: Two-day Srinagar District Boxing Championship concluded with prize distribution function, held at Indoor Sports Complex, here today.
In the prize distribution function, Manager Indoor Sports Complex Maqsood Ahmed was chief guest while Principal KV Humhama, Naresh Kant was guest of honour and Divisional Sports Officer (Kashmir) of J&K Sports Council Nuzrat Ara blessed the winner boxers and encouraged the others who fought well.
The competition took place under the guidance of Boxing coach, Farooq Ahmed Khan, whereas bouts were officiated by the technical penal led by Inder Singh of BSF Kashmir Frontier with the help Manoj Kumar Arya.
About 70 players took part in this two-day championship which was organised by J&K Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, J&K Olympic Association and Boxing Federation of India.
In boys under-14(30-32 kg) Ayaan Younis, Nitik Kumar and Tanish Arya stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 34-36 kg, top three places were clinched by Abbas Khursheed, Arpit Mishra and Munam and in 36-38 kg, Dipreet and Mohd Maroof stood first and second while Irshad and Abhay Kumar, jointly clinched 3rd places besides in 38-40 kg, top two places were clinched by Merajudin and Mohd Waseem while Mohd Numan and Aryan shared 3rd place.
In 44-46 kg, Irhad, Akmat, and Aryan remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 46-48 kg, Kaisar Ramzan stood Ist; Ammar Irshad Koli remained 2nd and Yasir Manzoor clinched 3rd place and in 48-50 kg, top three positions were bagged by Imran, John Mohd and Junaid respectively besides in 50-52 kg, Shah Farman stood 1st, Mudasir Awan remained 2nd and Mudasir Sheikh got 3rd position.
In 52-54 kg, Madan Mohan Sahoo, Ubaid Nabi Khatana and Tanveer Chouhan clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, whereas in under-17(60-63 kg), top two places were bagged by Abdul Manan and Saquib and in 63-66 Aryan and Fayaz Koli stood 1st and 2nd besides in 66-70 kg, Prateek and Yash won 1st and 2nd positions.
In senior (54-56 kg), top two places were bagged by Adil Khan and Khalid whereas in 64-69 kg, Arsalan Arif and Aijaz Majeed stood 1st and 2nd and in 69-75 kg, Asif Nawaz, Shamshad and Farzan won top three positions respectively besides in 81-91 kg, Eyad Akeel Khan remained 1st.
In girls sub-junior (52-54 kg), Bareena, Jasmine and Mahrukh Riyaz secured top three positions respectively, whereas in junior (54-57 kg), Aaisha and Tamana remained 1st and 2nd and in 60-63 kg, Aayat Aamir and Ifsha clinched top two places and in senior (54-57 kg), Nadia and Jarkhan Khan stood 1st and 2nd respectively.
