Sports Veterans wins Joginder Memorial Cup

JAMMU, Nov 14: Jammu Sports Veterans trounced Singh Veterans by 7 wickets and clinched the title of Joginder Memorial Cricket Cup, played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
Singh Veterans won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 132 by losing 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Sahil Mishra made 57 runs, while Sumit Rajput scored 16 and Darvinder Sharma and Vikas Virdhi contributed 16 & 11 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Nittin got 3 wickets, Umar took 2 wickets and Jagdev clinched 1 wicket.
In reply, Jammu Sports Veterans chased the target in 19 overs, losing only 3 wickets and registered 7 wickets win over their opponents. Mukesh Sharma scored unbeaten 58 runs and Dev Thakur also remained not out at 52 runs. From the bowling side, Rohit Guota got 2 wickets. Mukesh Sharma was declared as man of the match.
Rakesh Malhotra, Councillor was the chief guest and Depesh Singh was the guest of honor. They distributed prizes among the players. The 3-matches series was organised by Singh Cricket Club in collaboration with Jammu Sports under supervision of Kr Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor).
