Sports premier leagues commence

POONCH, Dec 15: Preliminary round of premier league in disciplines of Hockey, Football, Volleyball and Kabaddi, being organised by J&K Sports Council, commenced at Sports Stadium, here today.
In these leagues, six Football, Four Hockey, six Volleyball and six Kabaddi teams are participating.
The opening match of football was played between Khalsa FC and Chandak FC wherein Chandak FC won the match by 4-3 goals. For Chandak FC, Adrees Ahmed scored two goals, Ajaz and Touseef scored one goal each. For Khalsa FC, Sukhmanveer (Regal) netted three goals.
The Football match was officiated by technical penal of Rajinder Singh (PEM), Mohinder Bali, Manzoor Ahmed and Rajinder Singh.
In Volleyball two matches were played between Start Club Surankote and Chandak Stars Surankote wherein Start Club Surankote won the match by 3-0 sets while 2nd match was played between Mumtaz Club and Mandi Club wherein former won the match by 3-2 sets.
The Volleyball matches were officiated by Neeraj Sharma (PET VFI refree), Sourab Sharma (PEM), Majid Dar (PEM), DK Raina (PET) and Ram Prakash (Ground in-charge)
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Nirdosh Kumar I/C Manager Sports Stadium Poonch.
DDC Poonch, Rahul Yadav was the chief guest and declared the tournament open in presence of SSP Poonch, Ramesh Angral and other prominents including KL Sharma secretary Volleyball Association, Mohd Qasim DYSSO Poonch, Dalip Luthra veteran Football player, Nazarat Hussain secretary DFA, Vijay Kumat PEM, Pawan Kumar, Matinderpal (Hockey coach), Pervaiz Ahmed Afridi, Rajinder Singh (PET), Salil Raina and Mohd Tariq.
Speaking on the occasion DDC Poonch applauded the J&K Sports Council for providing platform to young players.
Vijay Kumar PEM was the master of the ceremony while Nirdosh Kumar Manager Sports Stadium Poonch presented vote of thanks and briefed about the tournament.
