1st Annual T-20 Cricket Tournament concludes

GHAGWAL, Mar 5: Terming Khelo India initiative of Narendra Modi as a game changer towards scaling new heights in the sports world, former Minister Chander Prakash Ganga today exhorted youngsters to devote time to games and distinguish themselves as a sportsperson across the globe.
Ganga, while speaking at the valedictory ceremony of 1st Annual Cricket Tournament T20, organized by CC Club Tapyal at Jai Sayoti Mata Rai Stadium, Tapyal.
About 32 teams from different parts of J&K and Punjab participated in this tournament which was organised under the supervision of Pardeep Singh.
The former Minister appealed the youth to prepare themselves for facing all impeding challenges of the world and for this he asked them to imbibe in themselves a true sportsmanship which makes their body and the Soul healthy in all respects.
He assured them all support to further boost games in the area under Khelo India initiative of Modi which is immensely helping and facilitating the youth to harness their sports talent to the fullest.
Ganga complimented the participants for their outstanding talent in this specific sport saying that such events give an opportunity to the players to exhibit their talent besides encouraging them to further hone up their aptitude and ability. These sports events also enable them prepare themselves to compete at national and international level thus bringing laurels to the state and the nation as well, he added.
The final match was played between Dr Shindi XI and Shah XI of Pathankot, Dr Shindi XI won the final match. Abhinav and Lucky were declared as man of the match and man of the series respectively.
Ganga also distributed prizes among the winning team Dr Shindi XI besides presenting awards to the runner up teams and other participants.
Rashpal Verma Ex-Vice Chairman OBC Board, Jai Ram Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Daljeet Singh, Hitesh Verma, Vikas Verma, Himanshu Verma, Kunal Singh besides others were present on the occasion.
