Sports Minister visits MA Stadium; Basketball courts, skating ring to be ready soon

Sports Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din inspecting ongoing construction work at MA Stadium on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Dec 4: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din visited MA Stadium and took stock of the works under execution.
He went round several units of the stadium and reviewed the progress of works.
Minister directed that speed roller skating rink at the stadium be made functional within 10 days. He also visited the Mechanical room and water analysis laboratory and directed immediate repairing of the filtration plant.
Taj was told that the swimming pool would be ready by March 2014.
He also went round both the synthetic and normal basketball courts which, he was told, would be ready within 10 days.
Minister also visited the two-storied indoor Sports complex. He was told that work on Rs 7 crore complex comprising a bigger hall and another multipurpose hall is apace.
He inspected the main pavilion of the sports stadium and visited the central pavilion and directed that seating and ceiling arrangements be made there and also thrust be laid on raising the greenery on the ground.
Taj also inspected the Kabbadi ground at the stadium which is being raised at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. He asked the engineers to complete all works at the stadium so that the players in particular and youth in general get the benefits instantly.
