Sports Council to organise mega Winter Shield T20 Cup in Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 12: To give fillip to sports in the State, Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council is organising a mega T20 cricket tournament namely Winter Shield T20 Cup soon in Jammu.
According to a handout issued here by the Director State Cricket Academy (SCA), J&K State Sports Council, Mr Mubhasir, 32 teams drawn from entire Jammu region will take part in the tournament and the teams will be picked on ‘first come first basis’ without submission of any entry fees.
The tournament will be played on knockout basis and attractive prizes will be presented to the winners and runners-up teams, apart from individual awards.
The matches will be played with Red (Leather) balls up to the quarterfinal stage, while the last eight teams will be provided colour uniforms, so the matches from quarterfinal stage onwards will be played with White balls.
“The organisers will enter the teams keeping in view that all areas of Jammu region get due share of participation,” said coordinators of the event.
