JAMMU, May 5: To identify and nurture grassroots talent for the upcoming Asian Kids Sport Climbing Competition, Tawi Trekkers J&K, in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, launched a series of mass sport climbing competitions at the Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in the school campus.
The first competition witnessed participation of around 380 students from various local schools. The event was inaugurated by Rahul Sharma, Chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School and patron of Tawi Trekkers J&K, in the presence of Sumit Khajuria, Shawetica Khajuria, Arti Sharma, Sonam Sidharth, Shashi Kant and Amit Khajuria, along with school representatives.
Despite being their maiden competition, participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, determination, and skill. In results, Ayaana Bhagat (BSF School) secured first position in Kids Girls, followed by Ayesha Tabir Khan and Raneem of Sprawling Buds. In Kids Boys, Hashvir and Yashvir of Sprawling Buds finished first and second, while Atif Kareem (St Xavier School) came third.
In Junior Girls, Aaradhya (Sprawling Buds) secured first place, followed by Sanchi Sharma (St Xavier) and Neetika Mehra (Shri Ram Universal School). In Junior Boys, Rudra Rajput and Ayush Singh of Sprawling Buds claimed top two spots, while Uplaksh Choudhary (Shri Ram Universal School) finished third. A grand prize distribution programme will be held after the completion of the competition series.
