KISHTWAR, Mar 29: A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed while one another received injuries when the Maruti car they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Fogumarh on Kishtwar-Doda-Batote highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02J-1789 was on its way from Drabshalla towards Kishtwar when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near Fogumarh area on Kishtwar-Doda-Batote highway, resulting into injuries to two persons.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital, where one of the injured failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed (SPO of J&K Police), son of Din Mohammad of Tatani Saroor, Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar, while the injured was identified as Sajjad Hussain, son of Irshad Hussain of Tatani Saroor, Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigation started.
