JAMMU, Oct 28: SPMR College of Commerce registered win over Government MAM College by 25 runs and will now take on GGM Science College in the summit clash of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here on October 31.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, SPMR College of Commerce set a target of 159 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Sahil Mahotra played a splendid inning of 58 runs off 49 balls including four boundaries and one six, while Ajay made 27 runs in 11 balls with three balls towards the fence and one ball over the fence. Subrat made 22 runs, while Hritik chipped in 15 runs in 12 balls with the help of two boundaries.
For Government MAM College side, Rakshit scalped 3 wickets by giving 22 runs in 4 overs, while Ashutosh took 2 wickets by conceding 32 runs in 3 overs.
In the second inning, Government MAM College failed to chase the target and bundled out at 134 runs by losing 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Yogesh Sukka was the highest scorer with 44 runs including three boundaries, while Varun made 26 runs off 20 balls with the help of one boundary and one six. Zakir and Sagar made 17 and 16 runs respectively.
For SPMR College of Commerce side, Sahil Choudhary was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 3 wickets by giving 27 runs in 4 overs, while Rahat and Sahil Mahotra took one wicket apiece.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Vijay Kumar and Raj Kumar Bakshi as umpires, while Vinod maintained the scorecard.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
