JAMMU, Nov 3: Pandit Rajendra Prasanna, the world-famous Flute maestro, gave an hour- long performance for the students of KC Public School today in the spacious Cricket Hall of KC Sports Club under the aegis of SPIC MACAY.
Pt. Prasanna was accompanied on Tabla by Pandit Lalit Kumar.
The performance was attended by students of classes 7th, 8th and 11th.
About 30 students of Government Middle School, Patta Bohri were also invited for the programme.
This government institution is a partner of KC Public School under RS community service programme and takes up numerous collaborative projects with this school related to environmental conservation and upliftment of educational environment for children from financially backward segment of the society.
Pandit Prasanna presented an extremely melodious rendition of a classical Raag on flute. Pandit Lalit Kumar gave him perfect accompaniment on Tabla to send the audience into raptures and spontaneous applause.
At the end of the performance, School Chairman Raju Chowdhary and School Managing Director Arti Chowdhary felicitated the artists by presenting them with customary shawls. School Head Girl Akshita Mengi and Jr Cultural Captain Anargya anchored the function with professional ease and expressed gratitude towards the great maestros of Indian classical music for enriching the students with their performance.
They also thanked Dr. Sangra and Prof Seema Rohmetra of the University of Jammu for arranging this performance at KC Public School under the aegis of SPIC MACAY.
Meanwhile, a flute recital by renowned flute maestro Pt. Rajendra Prasanna under the aegis of SPIC MACAY was staged at KCIS. The event was a courtesy from the J&K chapter of society for the promotion of Indian classical music and culture amongst youth.
He was accompanied by an artist Lalit Kumar on Tabla and spell bounded the audience with Raag yaman, Pahadi Raag, Ganga-Maa- Ki- Balaiya.
The programme began with the lighting of lamp by the Principal Subhendu Sarkar and other artists.
