KATHUA, Aug 5: Speedball, Karate and Gymnastics competitions were held in the ongoing District Level Inter-School Tournaments, being organized by the tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua under the overall supervision of DYSSO, Subash Chander Bhardwaj at Sports Stadium, here.
Shubham Sharma and the duo of Raman and Atul of Shastri Memorial HSS Haripur won the final match of Speedball Under-19 boys defeating the pair of Sandeep and Sushant of KPS Barnoti, while in Relay of Speedball, the team of Shastri Memorial HSS Haripur trounced Kartar Publi School Barnoti to emerge winner.
In Solo, KPS Barnoti registered win over Shastri Memorial HSS Haripur.
Meanwhile, in the competitions of Karate, Prity Jasrotia of HSS Barwal, Sonia Devi of GHSS Marheen, Veena Devi of GHSS Kathua, Chandani of GHSS Kathua won gold in below 40, 44, 48 and 52 kg weight categories respectively.
In Karate boys section, Shubham Partap Choudhary of KPS Barnoti, Arush Kumar of DAV Kathua, Navjot of KPS Barnoti, Aditya Sharma of KPS Barnoti, Achal Sumbria of Little Angels Kathua and Balvinder Singh of HSS Marheen won gold in below 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 KG weight categories respectively and in above 80 kg, Gulshan Kumar of DPS Barnoti stood first.
In Gymnastic, Under-19 girls, Anamika Jasrotia, Krishika Sharma and Yashpreet Kour of Little Angels Kathua secured first positions in their respective categories, while in the boys section, Amit Kumar of HSS Kathua, Munish Sharma of HSS Kathua and Vijitendra Singh clinched first positions in their respective categories.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Rakesh Manhas, Ramesh Singh, Gursharan, Ajay Kumar and Rajinder Parshad.
