JAMMU, May 15: Special Olympics Bharat JKUT organized an Orientation Programme at Model Academy Inclusive School to spread awareness about the principles, ideology and inclusive vision of Special Olympics among students, educators, coaches and school staff.
The session was presided over by Dr Ashwani Jojra, Founding President and area Director, Special Olympics Bharat JKUT, who spoke about the vision, mission, and ideology of Special Olympics.
A major highlight of the event was a live demonstration of the Bocce Ball game by the Special Olympics Bharat JKUT team for special children. The activity showcased the confidence, abilities, and sporting spirit of the athletes while encouraging active participation among attendees. A dental check-up camp for special students was also conducted by a team of specialized doctors.
Among those present from Model Academy were Rupa Gupta, Joint Director, MIER; Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Principal; Esha Sharma, Vice Principal; Anuradha Thakur, Incharge, Inclusive School; Dr Pallavi Gupta, Supervisor and Physiotherapist, Inclusive School and special educators.
Representing Special Olympics Bharat JKUT were Dr Ashwani Jojra, Sahil Badyal, Programme Manager; Jagdev Singh, Family President; Rashpal, Coach; Sharun Badial, Office Incharge and Raghudeep Singh, Special Athlete.
Anuradha Thakur coordinated the programme, while Dr Pallavi Gupta presented the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with interactive discussions reinforcing the commitment towards inclusive education, unity, respect, acceptance, and empowerment through sports.
