SOTTO organizes Rangoli competition

JAMMU, Nov 5: State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K in its third event of month-long celebrations of the 13th Indian Organ Donation Day, organised a Rangoli competition on the theme “Organ Donation” for students of various Nursing Colleges Jammu at Galaxy Paramedical College Sainik Colony, here today.
Fourty students, 4 each of the following Nursing Colleges participated and gave the message of organ donation through their art. The participating colleges were Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal; Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib; Galaxy Paramedical College, Sainik Colony; Govt. College of Nursing, Gandhi Nagar; Bee Enn College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal; Bee Enn Nursing Institute, Chak Bhalwal; Govt. College of Nursing, Gangyal; Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education Sidhra ; Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Katra and Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University Nursing College and School of Nursing and Biomedical Sciences.
Dr Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director SOTTO made students aware about the National Organ Transplant Program (NOTP) which is being run in SSH, Government Medical College Jammu.
Dr Chander Mohan, Principal of host College, lauded the efforts of students and SOTTO J&K. He spoke on the importance of donating organs after brain death, while College administrator, Shubham Manmotra also motivated students to pledge and donate organs.
Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education Sidhra secured first position, Bee Enn Nursing Institute Chak Bhalwal claimed second position and Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Katra secured third position in the Rangoli Competition.
In poster making competition held on November 2, Umar from Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education Sidhra and Rohit Karlupia from Bee Enn College of Nursing jointly secured first position, Tuybha from Acharya Shri Chander College of Nursing Education secured second position and Akarsha Bharti from Govt. College of Nursing, Gandhi Nagar secured third position in the Poster Competition.
