*Girls Volleyball final today

JAMMU, Oct 16: Medals continued to pour in for Sainik School, Nagrota and BSF School, Paloura, whileas Shiksha Niketan School, Jeevan Nagar, KC International School and SOS Hermann registered themselves on the medal table with a Gold in different events on Day 3 of School Olympics here today.
SOS Hermann won Gold in Girls’ Football by defeating the KC Public School with1-0 in the final, held at GGM Science College ground. APS Domana won bronze by defeating GHSS Bakshi Nagar in the third match.
MLA, Akhnoor, Rajiv Sharma was chief guest, who gave away medals to the victorious girls. Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh was also present on the occasion.
In Athletics, Sainik School, Nagrota won one Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals. Sourab Kumar of Sainik School won Gold in 200 meters, whereas Surjeet Singh of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School won Gold in Boys’ Shotput with a throw of 11.15 meters. Paramveer Singh did the honour to KC International School by winning Gold in Triple Jump event.
Josheel Bharat of BSF Paloura won Gold for his School in 3000 meters. Anchal Kumar, a resident of Nai Basti from border village of Suchetgarh in RS Pura and a student of GHSS, RS Pura won Silver in 3000 meters event. Ajay Sangral, a student of GHSS, Gandhi Nagar won Silver in Shotput event.
In Boys’ Football Round 2 matches were played. In Girls’ Basketball, Jodhamal School, APS, Kaluchak, APS Jammu Cantt and APS Ratnuchak entered into the semifinals. In Kabaddi, Round 1 of boys’ matches were played. In Table Tennis, GD Goenka and DPS won Silver and Bronze respectively. The Volleyball finals of girls will be held tomorrow at MA Stadium.
