Inter Distt Division Level Sports Competitions

JAMMU, Dec 1: Inter District Divisional Level Sports Competition in the discipline of Athletics AAG Boys and Girls was conducted today here at University Ground, Jammu.
The students from Jammu division i.e. Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur and Ramban took part in the competitions. The main objective of the competition was to select the Athletes of Jammu Division for next level of competitions.
In 3000 m Under -19 Girls Race, Sonika Devi of district Kathua bagged 1st position while the 1st prize in 3000 m Under-19 Boys Race, went to Mohd Manir of district Jammu. In 3000 m U-17 Girls Race, Simran Sharma of district Udhampur stood first and in 3000 m U-17 Boys Race, Sarfraz Farooq of district Jammu won first position.
In Under-19 Boys Shotput, Mohd Saleem of district Jammu got 1st prize while in U-19 Girls Shotput, Yasmeen Akhter of district Jammu bagged 1st prize. In U-17 Girls Shotput, Ruchika of district Jammu won 1st prize and in U-17 Boys Shotput, Mohd Aquib of district Kathua got 1st prize. In U-14 Girls Shotput, Anjali Devi bagged 1st prize while in U-14 Boys Shotput, Areesh Jandrhal of district Samba won 1st prize.
Nikhil Kumar of district Jammu won 1st prize in 100 m U-17 Boys Race and Chiterlekha of district Jammu bagged 1st prize in 100 m U-17 Girls Race. In 100 m U-14 Boys Race, Sagar Singh of district Jammu got 1st prize while in 100 m U-14 Girls Race, Ayushi Bhat of district Jammu won 1st prize.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO), district Jammu under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K Government, Jammu and overall supervision by Madan Lal, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Jammu.
While Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary of the competitions, Dr Saleem -Ur-Rehman was the chief guest at inaugural function. All the ZPEOs and concerning officials of all the participated districts of Jammu division were present at the venue. The chief guest distributed medals to the winners of the competitions.
The competitions were officiated by penal of experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, district Jammu.
