Soham wins Gold in Commonwealth Chess C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 23: Soham Kamotra of J&K won Gold medal in Commonwealth Chess Championship in Under-18 age category, which was organised at 5-Star Hotel Citrus Waskaduwa in Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dinesh Gunawaradena was present in the prize distribution function as chief guest along with other dignitaries. The Prime Minister also hosted dinner for winners.
President of All J&K Chess Association, Atul Kumar Gupta congratulated and facilitated him on arrival from Sri Lanka along with FIDE arbiter, Bindu Pathania and coach, Vivek Bharti. “The performance of Soham Kamotra will boost the morale of other youth of the Union Territory.
It is the second international medal for Soham this year. Earlier, he won bronze in Asian under-18.
