Sohail outplays Jaideep to win Senior Billiards title

JAMMU, Nov 21: Outplaying a strong rival Jaideep Manocha in the summit clash, talented Sohail Khalid claimed title in Jammu District Senior Billiards Championship as part of the ongoing 23rd Jammu District Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, organized by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association, which concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who later-on distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up players on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sanjeev Gupta, president J&K Billiards and Snooker Association, Sidharth Sharma, chairman, Vishal Abrol, general secretary, Jaideep Manocha, senior vice president, besides Ravi Singh and Satish Gupta.
Earlier, in the Senior Billiards final, Sohail defeated Jaideep (3-1). Sohail won the first frame by 101-86, lost the second one by 39-102, bagged the third frame by 102-74 and lost the 4th one by 100-25.
With this Sohail emerged the Senior Billiards champion, while Jaideep remained runners-up.
In other events which were held earlier, Vidit Gawri emerged Senior Snooker champion, while Abhi Gupta was the runners-up in this event.
In Junior Billiards Championship, Mandeep Singh emerged winner, while Kanav Manva remained runners-up and in Junior Snooker, Rohit Chib claimed the title, while Mandeep Singh remained runners-up.
