RAJOURI, June 20: Soft toy and decorative making training programme organised by Youth Development Centre, being run by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Kalakote under aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) commenced today, in which twenty five girls are taking part.
The aim of the programme is to empower the young girls with skills as well as a perspective to think beyond their house hold chores.
This initiative by the Army will make them capable of augmenting their house hold income working from the bounds of their homes.
A mela of the products made by the participants will be organized on June 30 to encourage the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Smita Swain, Instructor of the programme, said that it is heartening to see the enthusiasm of the participants. Most of them have basic skills on cutting and stitching and they need to be oriented towards new designs and innovate as per market requirements, Smita added.
Urmila and Anita, participants of the training programme said that with the help of Army, they will be able to establish their own ventures in the next six to seven months.
