SMVDU organizes Open State Inter-University Chess C’ship

KATRA, Sept 8: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra organized opening ceremony of 3-day Open State Inter-University Chess Championship, here today.
Dr VK Bhat, Registrar, SMVDU was the chief guest on the occasion.
National Arbiter of Indian Chess Association, Minah-jul Haq will be the chief arbiter during the 3-day tournament.
Teams from Jammu University, Kashmir University, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are participating in the tournament.
Earlier, Rajiv Kumar, President, Board for Sports Activities welcomed all the dignitaries and the teams, while later-on,
Dr Sandeep Bhogal, Vice President, Board for Sports Activities presented vote of thanks.
Dean Students, Dr Yugal Khajuria, Dr VK Tripathi, President BCA, Prof IK Pandita and other faculty and staff members were present on the occasion.
Vice Chancellor, Prof Sanjeev Jain gave his best wishes to all the participating teams.
