While interacting with Superintendent of Hospital, Bhalla said that Gandhi Nagar Hospital needs to be equipped with advance medicare facilities to tackle the increasing rush of patients as this hospital was upgraded during the previous coalition only with the purpose  to reduce pressure on Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGSH) of Jammu city.
Former Minister said that efforts need to be made to upgrade the facilities available in Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar to match with GMCH and SMGS Hospitals for benefit of the patients visiting the hospital and also catering all type of patients which included Gynaecology, he added. Bhalla asked the hospital authorities to maintain hygienic environment in the hospital.
The former Minister asked the management of the hospital for face lifting of old hospital building. He asked the hospital authorities to upgrade the medical facilities in existing laboratory, radiology section, emergency ward, Gynae ward and neuro surgical theatre besides upgrading the existing installed transformers to ensure improved power supply to the hospital. Earlier, Bhalla visited under construction 200-beded maternity hospital near OPD block at Gandhi Nagar Hospital.
