JAMMU, Sept 8: The Divisional Level Inter District competitions of Jammu division in the sports disciplines of Judo, Hupkwondo, Jeet-kendo, Gymnastic and Kick Boxing concluded here at Indoor Complex MA Stadium, here.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services, under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services & Sports and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary of the competitions.
Dr Swaran Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion, who along with Chanchal Kour distributed the prizes among the winning teams in a simple and well attended function.
The chief guest stressed upon the youngsters to take part in sports and live a healthy life.
The main objective of these competitions was to select the teams in these disciplines for the upcoming Inter t Division competitions.
Jammu district dominated the Gymnastics competitions on the concluding day.
The matches were officiated by Omeshwar Thean-yal, Neeru Jabalia, Kamal Singh, Seema Mehra, Mayank Jain and Honey Mehra.
Meanwhile, at Kathua, in Softball Under-19 Boys
Final, District Jammu defeated the host district Kathua by 14-1 homes. Arun of Jammu made 2 homes as batter and remained best pitcher. Roshan also made 2 homes, while in Softball Under-17 boys final, the hosts Kathua thrashed Jammu by 20-3 homes. Harsh Salaria of Kathua made 3 homes, while Rakesh Singh emerged best pitcher.
