JAMMU, May 15: Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana celebrates its Annual Day with zeal and zest in the school premises, here today.
Mahant Manjit Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, which was followed by Saraswati Vandana.
Principal of the College, Dr Kiran Luthra presented the Annual Report highlighting various curricular and co-curricular activities of the College conducted during the session.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students, comprising Gidda, Dogri dance, Kashmiri dance, Rajasthani dance, Bangra and Solo songs which were applauded by the audience.
Prize distribution was also held on the occasion wherein the chief guest presented prizes and mementos to the winners of different activities conducted during the session.
Mahant Manjit Singh appreciated the efforts made by the students in performing different activities of the day and stressed upon the pupil-teachers to work hard to take up teaching assignments effectively. He also stressed upon them to acquire skills along with theoretical knowledge and uphold the moral values in social life.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by the Chairman of the College, Prof Anmol Singh.
