GULMARG, Feb 28: The 10 daylong Snow Ski Course for specially-abled boys concluded here today.
Fifteen boys hailing from different areas of the Valley took part in this short ski course, organized by Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir in association with All J&K Sports Association of the Deaf.
The training programme was sponsored by the J&K State Sports Council.
On the successful conclusion of the camp a skill test was held among the participants by the experts of the Association. Amir Rouf bagged first position while, Amir Altaf and Munaqib got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Shabir Ahmad Wani, Assistant Director YS & Sports was the Chief Guest on the occasion who distributed medals among the winners.
The Mementos and certificates were awarded to all the participants and supporters.
Among others first J&K Olympian Gulmustafa Dev, A.R. Tantray, G.M. Dar, Mohamad Saleem, General Secretary AJKSAD, representatives from J&K Sports Council and J&K State Cable Corporation were present on the occasion.
Earlier the participants organized a breath-taking demonstration on ski techniques which was witnessed by scores of tourists and other enthusiasts.
The General Secretary of WGAJK Muhammad Yusuf expressed his gratitude to State Sports Council, Tourism Depar-tment, Gulmarg Development Authority, All J&K Sports Association of the Deaf and Cable Car Corporation for their support to make this special event a success.
He said that the association had engaged the expert members to communicate with the deaf and dumb boys.
