JAMMU, June 14: Indian Hawks Roller Skating Club (IHRSC) skaters Puneesh Puri and Ruhaan Raina have made a mark in 7th National Ranking Roller Skating Championship held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh by winning five coveted medals.
The Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) has organized the tournament to sort out the top seeded players in the speed skating field. Puneesh Puri in one of his finest spells bagged two gold medals and a bronze in the three events under his age category while Ruhaan showcased maturity in his skillful performance by securing two bronze medals in this prestigious national level event.
Another skater Achintya, who is also actively honing his skills under the realms of IHRSC, remained at the fourth place in one of the events held in the same tournament. Commending the brilliant performance by the IHRSC skaters, President of the Club Ashok Gandotra ( Retd Chief Engineer) said that the extraordinary spells of the skaters of this club have set new standards of the game at the national arena, which is a matter of pride for every sports lover of the UT of J&K. He asked the club’s members to continue with the hard work to keep up the momentum and come up with flying colours in the upcoming tournaments. It is pertinent to mention that IHRSC has climbed the ladder of success in a very short span of time as it has to its credit creation of many national champions and national medalists in both RSFI nationals and School Games Federation of India (SGFI) nationals.
