JAMMU, Nov 25: Sittu Club Simbal Camp defeated Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club by six goals to two (6-2) in the 1st Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here today.
The Tournament is being held under the aegis of Hockey J&K.
Earlier, Sittu Club Simbal Camp thrashed Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club in an easy contest by a margin of 4 goals (6-2). For Sittu Club, Ramnik and Inderjeet scored 2 goals each, while Gaganpreet and Gurkrit netted one goal each. Ramnik scored the goals in 2nd and 39th minute, while Inderjeet netted the goals in 10th and 50th minute. Gaganpreet and Gurkrit scored the goals in 42nd and 46th minute. From Bhagat Singh Club, Manvir Singh and Mandeep Singh scored the goals in 33rd and 38th minutes respectively.
In another match, Lachiputa Club defeated Ajit Club Gole Gujral by two goals to one (2-1). For Lachipura Club, Palwinder Singh scored both the goals in 24th and 26th minutes, while Manpreet Singh scored the goal for Ajit Club in 33rd minute of the match. At half-time, Lachipura was leading by 2 goals to nil.
JS Johar, SP and Jaipal Singh, Director Technical Education were the guests of honour in the first and the second match respectively.
The matches were officiated by SP Singh, Iqbal Singh, JS Reen, Jagjeet Singh, Indpal Singh, GS Bakshi, MS Reen, Mandeep Singh and Ravinder Singh.
157 TA Army Club will face Jath Kapoor Singh Club, while Zorawar Club Satwari will take on Bagh-Baian Club Gole Gujral at the same venue tomorrow.
