JAMMU, July 31: Outplaying Friends Cricket Club Akhnor by 40 runs in the final, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor lifted the Champions Trophy Akhnoor title at GHSS Akhnoor, near here today.
Batting first, Singh CC scored 123 runs in 12 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sumit Rajput and Surinder Singh contributed 30 runs each. Bunty and Amit shared 2 wickets each, while Ankit claimed one wicket for Friends Cricket Club.
In reply, FCC Akhnoor bundled out for 81 runs to lose the match by 40 runs. Arush Sharma and Goutam contributed 25 and 22 runs respectively. Sunil was the pick of the bowlers for Singh Club, who captured 4 important wickets.
The match was officiated by Vinod Magotra, Sourav Singh and Kaushal Sharma. Sunil was adjudged as the man of the match and Sumit Rajput was declared as the man of the series.
