AKHNOOR, Jan 13: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor thrashed Daskal Cricket Club by a big margin of 94 runs in the ongoing New Year Cup Cricket Tournament Akhnoor 2019, here.
The Tournament is being organised by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh.
Winning the toss and batting first, Singh CC Akhnoor scored a good total of 220 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Sunil Govil was the top scorer with 83 runs off 46 balls, studded with 13 fours and 2 sixes, while Sumit Rajput contributed 45 runs to the total. Manik Sharma and Amit Rajput scored 41 and 22 runs respectively. From Daskal CC, Abhishek took 32 wickets, while Daskal claimed one.
In reply, Daskal CC managed to score 126 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by a big margin o 94 runs. Abhishek (28) and Vinod Sharma (17) were the main scorers. From Singh CC, Sham Singh Langeh, Sunil Bendy and Sunil Govil took 2 wickets each, while Amit Rajput and Sumit Sharma claimed one wicket each. Govil Sharma was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Manav Sharma as umpires, while Rohit Kumar and Amit Mangotra were the scorers.
Amar Cricket Club Jourian will take on Friends Warriors Jourian in the first semifinal tomorrow.
