JAMMU, Aug 11: Simula Revengers defeated Friends Club Baja Bain and lifted the title trophy of the 7th edition of Friends Club Cricket Tournament, which was played at Sunderbani, District Rajouri.
Earlier, led by Abhishek Sudan Friends Club opted to bat first but the final match was rendered to a one side affair after the splendid bowling performance by the Simula Revengers disrobed the FC batters who were collapsed like a house of cards after they posted a modest 75 runs on the scoreboard in 15 overs.
In their run chase, Simula Revengers were phenomenal to reach home comfortably by losing just 1 wicket, thus, lifted the Season 7 Trophy.
Vikas of Simula Revengers was adjudged as Man of the Match and Man of the Series as well while Akashvir was adjudged as Batsman of the Tournament and Vikas as Best Bowler of the Tournament.
MLC Surinder Choudhary was the chief guest, who presented the trophies to the winners. The MLC also appreciated the efforts of the organizers of friends Club Tournament for engaging the youth in the right direction especially when the atmosphere around the border belt was quite disturbing.
He called upon the youth to participate in sports which he termed as an important element of healthy lifestyle.
SDM Sunderbani Kartar Chand and ACR Reasi Harbans Sharma were the guests of honours.
Pertinently, a total of 16 numbers of teams participated in the 7th edition of the tournament from different parts of District Rajouri.
Vijay Sharma, Principal New Pubic School Sunderbani, Joginder Kumar, Principle IPS Baja Bain, Satpal Sharma Ex Sarpanch and many others were present on the occasion.
