*Zonal Police to clash with Media-XI in exhibition match today

JAMMU, Nov 24: Simula Cricket Club will take on Road Safety XI in the final of the ongoing 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club at KC Sports ground, here today.
In today’s match, Parshotam Sharma Deputy Director ZPHQ Jammu was the chief guest whereas Vinod Dhamasker former Ranji Player of Goa, BCCI Level 3 Coach and Chief Coach of Under 19 team and Arjun Choudhary Managing Partner of KC Sports Club were the guests of honour.
In the first semifinal match, Simula Cricket Club defeated Khalsa Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Batting first, Khalsa Cricket Club scored 90 runs for the loss of all wickets in 18.3 over. Jaspreet Singh scored 30 runs, while Sandeep scored 16 runs.
From bowling side, Sahil Sharma, Ritik, Raman and Vivek Thappa took 2 wickets each, while Kuldeep and Satish shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Simula Cricket Club chased the target in 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shashi scored 29 runs, Mohit made 23 runs and Atul scored 20 runs.
From bowling side, Amandeep took 2 wickets, while Kawal took 1 wicket.
Shashi was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In second semis, Road Safety XI registered win over Samar Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Batting first, Samar Cricket Club scored 115 runs for the loss of all wickets in 19.5 overs. Deepak chipped in 35 runs, while Sahil made 25 runs and Gokul scored 13 runs.
From bowling side, Balwan Singh took 3 wickets, while Rompy took 2 wickets. Majid, Ishtiaq and Arwind shared 1 wicket apiece.
In the second inning, Road Safety XI chased the target in 17.3 overs by losing 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Hinan Malik chipped in half century, while Ishtiaq scored 30 runs and Pankaj made 24 runs.
From bowling side, Manish took 2 wickets, while Deepak scalped 1 wicket.
Hinan was adjudged as Man of Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Husain, Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Vijay.
“In tomorrow’s fixture, Simula Cricket Club and Road Safety XI in the summit clash. In first exhibition match, Zonal Police of Jammu Division will clash with Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu, whereas the second exhibition match will be played between U-10 players”, said Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Organizing Secretary of the Tournament. He added that a prize distribution function will be held at KC Sports ground on November 26 (Monday) at 2:30 pm at KC Sports ground.
