Simula Club lifts Indian Armed Forces Cricket Tourney title trophy

JAMMU, May 4: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor Advocate Purnima Sharma while speaking during the prize distribution function of the final of Salute to the Indian Armed Forces T-20 Cricket Tournament assured the sports persons that they are very keen to develop different sports infrastructure in Jammu so that the budding players may not remain deprived of the facilities to groom themselves for the national and international sports events.
RK Bhatt, SSP, an another guest of honour, assured to provide some amount from his property for the development of this ground for budding youngsters.
The final match of the tournament was won by Simula Cricket Club by defeating Laxmi Cricket Club by 49 runs. Puneet of Simula was the highest scorer with 48 runs, followed by 45 runs by Atul Sharma, 35 runs by Hinan Malik and 26 runs by Manjeet Singh.
From Laxmi Club side, Vikram Dogra scalped 3 wickets by giving 28 runs.
In reply, Laxmi Club failed to chase the target and lost the match by 49 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rohan Koul scored half centry, while Pardeep Bali made 19 runs.
Vikram Singh from Simula took 3 wickets by giving 26 runs.
Puneet of Simula was adjudged as Man of the Match, while Abdul Samad of National Cricket Club was adjudged as Best Batsman, Vikram Singh of Simula as Best Bowker and Rohan Koul of Laxmi Club as Man of the Series.
