Sidhra B Leopards, Sidhra Scorpions, Sagoon Kings XI script resounding victories

BAJALTA, Mar 7: Sidhra B Leopards defeated Pounthal Fighters, while Sidhra Scorpions prevailed over Ragoora Youngstars and Sagoon Kings XI got better of Rabta Scorpions in the Maruti Suzuki Nagrota Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, an initiative of MLA Devender Singh Rana at Bajalta Playfield in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Sidhra B Leopards set a fighting total of 105 runs for Pounthal Fighters to chase in stipulated 14 overs.
Pounthal Fighters failed to chase the target and scored only 95 runs in the allotted overs after losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 9 runs. Captain of Sidhra B Leopards Imran Rashid was declared as man of the match for his 20 runs and one wicket.
The second match of Group A was played between Sidhra Scorpions and Ragoora Youngstars.
Winning the toss, Ragoora Youngstars elected to bat first and scored a meagre total of 72 runs by losing all their wickets in 13.1 overs. Sidhra Scorpions comfortably chased the target in 7 overs after losing one wicket only, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Salman top scored with 34 runs, while Zakir remained unbeaten on 24. Faisel was declared as man of the match for taking 3 important wickets.
The third match of Group B was played between Rabta Scorpions and Sagoon Kings XI.
Batting first, Rabta scored a paltry total of 64 runs in the allotted 14 overs.
Sagoon Kings XI chased the target in 6.4 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Rakesh was declared as man of the match for his all-round display. He scored 23 runs and took 2 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Madan Mohan from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, while Zulfikar Ahmed, Mohammed Gul and Suresh Singh were the scorers.
Both the matches were played under the overall supervision of Faheem Tak, Vice President Take-1 Channel and Member Organizing Committee.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Aithem Wazir will take on Bain 19, Dhanu 3 Heroes will face Khanpur Grief Camp and Pali Warriors will lock horns with Jagti Dhammi Blasters.
