JAMMU, Nov 3: J&K State Badminton Championship organized by J&K Badminton Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council under Khelo India Scheme concluded today at Badminton hall, MA Stadium, here.
On the valedictory function, Former Minister and MLA Chander Parkash Ganga was the chief guest. He gave away prizes to the players, who secured first, second and third positions.
While speaking, Ganga said that the Khelo India Scheme is a great initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of taking the sports to every nook and corner to create an atmosphere of sports and popularize sports in the country. “PM took this initiative also to channelize the youth in right direction”, he added.
Dr OD Sharma, Chairman, JKBA, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Complex MA Stadium, Balbir Jamwal, General Secretary JKBA, Fayaz Ahmed, Joint Secretary JKBA, Ajay Sharma, Chairman TT Association, Rahul Sharma, SAI Coaches Sat Pal Sharma and Vikram Saini, large number of players, technical officials, sports lovers and distinguished guests were also present.
In U-14 Girls Singles final, Unnati beat Snowy and won title trophy, whereas in U-14 Boys Singles final, Ibrahim defeated Vidhan and lifted title trophy.
In U-14 Girls Doubles final, Kashika and Sambli emerged winner by defeating Unnati and Pranjal, whereas in U-14 Boys Doubles final, Abhijit and Kulband beat Sant and Sanyam to lift the title trophy.
