Shrine Board Archers excel in Khelo India University Games in Lucknow

KATRA, June 3: Three Archers from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra excelled in the archery events of Khelo India University Games recently held in Lucknow and won three medals in compound event.
The medal winners Hrithik Sharma, Amit and Shavej today met Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra in his office.
Pertinently, five archers trained and groomed at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra participated in the Archery Compound event of Khelo India University Games and won team silver, mixed team silver and individual bronze medals. These archers have been trained under the guidance of Kuldeep Vedwan, Archery Coach at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra.
Shrine Board, CEO Anshul Garg encouraged the archers. He also applauded the Coach, Kuldeep Vedwan for his expert coaching, hard work and dedication due to which the archers and para-archers from SMVD Sports Complex were able to secure medals at National and International levels.
He exhorted that the Shrine Board under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha committed to encourage the youth and provide them a platform to showcase their talents.
Vipan Bhagat, Assistant CEO, SMVDSB, Coach and Archers from SMVD Sports Complex were also present on the occasion.
