SHOPIAN, Dec 4: Shopian District Table Tennis (TT) Championships 2020, organised by District Table Tennis Association, concluded at Indoor Sports Complex, here today.
About 75 players of different age categories participated in the three days event.
The chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony was Gurmeet Singh, District Youth services & Sports Officer, who distributed the prizes among the winners and encouraged the young talent to give their best in the future tournaments of State and National levels.
Riyaz Ahmed (DYSSO), Muhammad Shamim (ZPEO) Zone Imam Sahib, Afsha Jallu (HOD, LPD NIPS), Farooq Ahmad (DYSSO) & Muhammad Rafiq (Coordinator Academics-NIPS) were the guests of honour for the closing ceremony while Muhammad Shafi was the organising secretary of the championship.
In cadet girls category, Atiya Khan emerged as winner while Aiman Shafi was declared as runner-up, whereas in sub junior boys, Furkam Abid got 1st place while Muneeb clinched runner-up place.
In sub-junior girls, Zafeera Zahoor clinched first position and Arishka Sarwar bagged runner-up position whereas in junior boys, Mubassir Rashid Maanay was declared as winner while Haseeb Anwar secured runner-up position.
In junior girls, Aleena Yaseen bagged 1st position and Iffat Ameen secured runner-up position, whereas in men’s category, Kaiser Ahmad was declared as winner and Mohammad Hamam as runner-up.
