Shooters show promise in State Shooting C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 29: On the second day of 6th J&K State Shooting Championship-2015, matches were conducted in Senior, Junior, Youth and Sub-junior boys and girls categories.
Shooters from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Baramulla, Ramban and Doda showed promise and composure during a tough competition.
Anu Sharma of Kathua District was the top scorer with the 373/400 in women’s junior category. In the preliminary rounds the other top scorers were Sarfrosh Sharma (Youth Rifle men) 365/400, Utkarsh Mathur (Youth Pistol men) 310/400 and Saima Afzal (youth Pistol Women) 251/400.
Sanam Sony, general secretary JKRA, Narinder Bhatial, vice president JKRA, Amjad Parvez Mirza, Executive member JKRA, T S Tony Member JKRA, Sharat Chander Singh, treasurer JKRA visited the Shooting Ranges of Delhi Public School Jammu and Gulshan Ground Jammu to encourage the marksmen taking part in the championship.
The matches are being conducted by Rajesh Virdhy and Tarun Dev Singh.
