JAMMU, July 1: From his existing post of treasurer, Shiv Kumar Sharma has been elevated to the post of vice president by the Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, a recognised body of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The National body also elected other top office bearers in a governing body meeting that took place at MLA Hostel (Haryana) in Chandigarh for a term of four years.
President of the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was elected unanimously to the post of vice president.
Shiv Kumar has been promoted by the National body considering his contribution in promoting the game.
General secretary of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and retired Tehsildar, Bansi Lal Tidyal was re-elected as joint secretary while retired police officer, Prithvi Raj Sharma has been made advisor of the Indian Style Wrestling Federation of India.
Former National champion and two time MLA, Choudhary Nafe Singh Rathi of Bahadurgarh (Haryana) was elected as president and Gourav Sachdeva of Delhi as secretary general. Hanif Raj of Gujarat was elected as treasurer.
Dronacharya Awardee, Roshan Lal of Delhi and former secretary general was nominated as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while and former president of the Association, Ram Ashray Yadav of UP was nominated as chairman.
Earlier, two representatives of 20 affiliated States participated in the election meeting that took place under the supervision of Advocate Sunil Kumar Sharma.
Meanwhile, Mr Sharma has assured that new team in the National wrestling body will leave no stone unturned for the upliftment of Indian Style Wrestling within and outside J&K.
