JAMMU, June 11: The students of Shito Ryu Karate School of Jammu and Kashmir won medals for J&K in 33rd All India Karate Championship held at Mussorie in Karnataka, recently.
The Championship was organized by Shito Ryu Karate School of India, recognized by Karate Association of India.
In Under-10 years, Shreeya Labroo won gold in Kata and silver in Kumite, while in Under-17 years, Manik Dhar bagged bronze in Kata and silver in Kumite and Akshun Slathia bagged gold in Kumite.
In Under-24 years, Naresh Kumar clinched silver in Karta and silver in Kumite.
The team participated in the event under the supervision of Sensei Amit Singh, Chief Coach, Black Belt 4th Dan Karate Association of India; Sensei Vikas Dhar, Black Belt 3rd Dan Karate Association of India and Coach of the Association, Naresh Kumar, Black Belt 2nd Dan KAI.
President of the Association Praneesh Mahajan and General Secretary, Surinder Gupta lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
